保守的な風潮に満ちた現代から振り返ると、1960年代や70年代は、まさしく時代の分かれ目だった。 アメリカ文化の歴史の中で、劇的な変化というものが可能であると疑いも無く信じる事が出来た最後 の時期。Mike Pareのドローイングは、大勢のデモ参加者たちや、フェスティバルでの音楽ファン たちの、若い衝動の存在、そして思想を際立たせ表現する。彼が描くのは、個人個人の織りなす万華 鏡的なユートピアの風景。瞑想する若者と繰り返し描かれる極彩色の幾何学模様が、日常に潜む刺のようなアンバランスな感情を想起させる。

Mike Pare's current works are explorations of youthful transcendence and bliss through music, meditation, gurus, beins and skateboarding. His videos and drawings have been exhibited in the United States, Europe and Asia. He is currently living in Brooklyn, NY and represented by the ATM Gallery in NYC.
