竹中直人
1956年神奈川県横浜市生まれ。多摩美術大学グラフィックデザイン科卒業。83年にテレビ朝日系"ザ・テレビ演芸"にてデビュー。以降ドラマ、映画、CM等で幅広く活躍。1991年には、映画初監督作品"無能の人"で第48回ヴェネチア国際映画祭、国際批評家連盟賞を受賞し監督としての才能も認められる。俳優としては96年に大河ドラマ"秀吉"にて圧倒的な存在で見事秀吉を演じきり一躍国民的な俳優に。今春には初の絵画展も開催。ミュージシャン、エッセイスト、絵本作家など次々とマルチな才能を発揮し活動の幅を広げ続けている。現在、最新監督作品を準備中。

Naoto Takenaka is a Japanese actor, comedian, singer, and director from Yokohama. One of his most notable roles was Hideyoshi in the 1999 NHK Taiga drama of the same name. A veteran of almost a hundred films, he has been nominated for ten Japanese Academy Awards, winning Best Supporting Actor awards for Shiko funjatta, East Meets West, and Shall we Dansu?. He also did the voice of Puss in Boots in the Japanese dub of the Shrek films.
